From science concept to real space instrument

MECANO ID supports the scientific space community in the development of experiments and space instruments for project management or engineering and testing support, for earth observation or Solar System exploration missions. MECANO ID has participated in the development of several dozen scientific instruments; here are some examples.

Excellent work accreditation

CNES SME LABEL

Since 2021, CNES awards, for its key SME partners, labels promotting their excellent work performed within the frame of its space programs.

A such, MECANO ID has been awarded for its role of Prime Contractor of Mechanical and Thermal subsystems for Platform and Payload.

Development contract with AIRBUS Defence & Space

FESA INSTRUMENT (METOP SG)

MECANO ID carried out, on behalf of AIRBUS DS, the complete development of the assembled structure of the FESA subassembly (Front End Sub Assembly), the supporting structure of the sources of the antennas of the MWI instrument for METOP SG.

Development contract with the CNES

ECLAIRs INSTRUMENT (SVOM)

In the international context of cooperation with CNSA (China National Space Administration), CNES entrusted MECANO ID with the development and construction of the structure of the ECLAIRs instrument on board the SVOM satellite.

Development contract with ABB (in progress)

TIR Instrument – Mechanical and Thermal Structure (HARMONY)

In the frame of HARMONY mission, MECANO ID are developing the structure of the Thermal InfraRed (TIR) imaging instrument. ABB entrusted MECANO ID to design, sizing and manufacturing the TIR structure.

Development contract with IRAP

DORN Instrument – Mechanical and Thermal Analysis (Chang’E6 mission)

The DORN instrument, from the far side of the Moon and riding on China’s Chang’e 6 lander investigated radon, a radioactive gas continuously emanating from lunar soil. MECANO ID performed for IRAP (Institut de Recherche en Astrophysique et Planétologie) the Mechanical and Thermal Analysis and tests.
